Team MSR: 2023 SCCA Nationals Success

Lincoln, NE — SCCA SOLO Nationals 2023

In national-level autocross, where precision meets perseverance, Eric Anderson and Team MSR delivered one of the most inspiring performances of the 2023 SCCA SOLO Nationals.
With MS3Pro PNP engine management dialed in by AMP EFI, the team’s blend of passion, engineering, and teamwork turned an ambitious challenge into a record-setting success.

The Road Less Traveled

One car.
Six talented drivers.
Five competitive classes.

Team MSR didn’t just take on an impossible schedule — they embraced it.
By week’s end, “LaFawnduh,” their perfectly tuned Mazda, earned nine trophies, four class championships, and enough memories to last a lifetime.

Even after two blown head gaskets and one infamous “toothpick incident,” the crew never lost focus.
That relentless spirit defined their campaign and showcased the heart of true motorsport grit.

Powered by Precision — MS3Pro PNP and AMP Support

Behind every successful run stood an electronics package that never faltered.
With AMP EFI’s MS3Pro PNP managing every cylinder and a full dyno calibration handled by Ben Berusch and Jerry Hoffmann, the car delivered repeatable performance across every driver and class.

The AMP team provided on-call tuning guidance, ECU expertise, and the kind of technical partnership that keeps a national-level program running flawlessly under pressure.

Eric and the MSR family credit an entire network of specialists who made their season possible:

A special acknowledgment goes to Michael Anderson, Eric’s father, whose tireless prep work kept the car championship-ready all season.

Champions Among Champions

Team MSR’s success extended far beyond their own results:

  • Layne Lindemann, Chris Edens, and Matt Waldbaum each captured their first National Championships, many in their first drives of LaFawnduh — proof of both their talent and the car’s balanced setup.

  • Deana Kelley earned her first open-class Nationals Trophy, finishing 2nd in SSM ahead of multi-time champions, proudly showcasing the strength of her Zebulon MSC Ltd. aero package.

  • Randall Wilcox secured the first Pro Solo Championship in the modern index-class era, demonstrating absolute precision and consistency.

Six different drivers have now reached the top of the podium in LaFawnduh — a testament to the team’s engineering, preparation, and the reliability of AMP-tuned electronics.

Looking Ahead to 2024

Eric Anderson closed 2023 with his first-ever Pro Solo podium, reflecting on a season filled with early-morning launches, hard lessons, and unmatched camaraderie.
Though the goal of five national titles narrowly escaped them, Eric’s sportsmanship shone through as he congratulated Dave Montgomery on his XP victory — calling him the definition of a true champion.

Team MSR is already back in the shop refining the XP program, determined to close the gap next season.
And the entire AMP EFI community stands right behind them.
