Bonneville Salt Flats, UT — Land Speed Racing Returns to Glory
After nearly a decade of inconsistent salt conditions, Bonneville finally delivered the kind of perfect surface racers dream about. With the flats in ideal form, Guthrie-Levie Land Speed Racing rolled in with one goal — to make history as the first sidecar motorcycle team in the world to break 300 mph.
Powered by the MS3Pro ULTIMATE from AMP Engine Management, they did more than just cross that threshold — they rewrote the record books.
The First Attempt — Speed Week
At Speed Week in August, rider John Levie unleashed the team’s turbocharged, Hayabusa-powered sidecar streamliner to a jaw-dropping 305.705 mph, despite clutch failure near the end of mile four.
Under SCTA rules, an official record requires a second run at equal or greater speed. Unfortunately, mechanical carnage — a destroyed clutch, countershaft, chain, and transmission — ended their weekend short of certification.
Even without the record, a 305 mph first outing proved one thing beyond doubt: the machine and its MS3Pro ULTIMATE-controlled system had the power to make history.
Redemption — World of Speed
Just weeks later, the team returned to Bonneville for World of Speed — more determined than ever. This time, everything came together.
Levie piloted the MS3Pro ULTIMATE–controlled sidecar motorcycle to a new world record, officially joining one of motorsports’ most exclusive clubs: the 300 MPH Club.
He is now one of only three single-engine motorcycle pilots on earth to hold that title.
At the end of the measured mile, Levie’s trap speed hit an astounding 320.304 mph, covering that final mile in 11.4 seconds — all with flawless data logs, consistent fuel trims, and stable boost control under MS3Pro management.

The Build — Engineering for Speed and Control
Despite the otherworldly top speed, the Guthrie-Levie streamliner remains a masterclass in efficient engineering, not extravagance.

The AMP Edge — Power You Can Trust at 320 MPH
At 300 mph+, the difference between success and failure comes down to data accuracy and control latency measured in milliseconds.
The MS3Pro ULTIMATE excels with:
-
Sequential fuel and ignition for up to 12 cylinders
-
Advanced boost control with PID learning
-
Per-cylinder EGT and closed-loop correction
-
Fail-safe logic and full-resolution data logging
This level of precision let the team safely push the Hayabusa platform beyond limits once thought impossible — proving that AMP Engine Management provides reliability where the margin for error is zero.
The Next Frontier — 350 MPH and Beyond
With the 300 mph barrier broken and a 320 mph record certified, the Guthrie-Levie team is already planning their next evolution.
Aero refinement, incremental power increases, and expanded traction-control mapping under MS3Pro ULTIMATE are all part of the roadmap — with sights now set firmly on 350 mph+ at the next Bonneville event.
Stay tuned as AMP-powered innovation continues to push the boundaries of what’s possible on two (and a half) wheels.
