Road America, WI — October 5, 2025
Two AMP-powered racers, two incredible results.
At this year’s SCCA® National Championship Runoffs®, Mike Taylor captured the STL Gold Medal, and teammate Jon Sewell stormed from P9 to P5, earning the Sunoco Hard Charger Award. Together, they delivered a Top-5 double finish that showcased AMP Engine Management precision and reliability on motorsport’s biggest amateur stage.

Mike Taylor — From Start to Victory
The STL finale at Road America came down to strategy, precision, and composure.
From the drop of the green, Mike Taylor launched his Acura Integra perfectly and held the inside line into Turn 12 before an early full-course yellow neutralized the field.

On the lap-four restart, Jose Peña surged ahead briefly, setting the race’s fastest lap at 2:32.127, but post-race review revealed a restart violation. A five-second penalty moved Peña to P2 and awarded Taylor the official SCCA Runoffs Gold Medal.
Taylor’s e3 Storage / Just Track It / AMP EFI Integra ran flawlessly for all 13 laps, powered by the reliability and control of AMP’s standalone ECU and custom EFI tuning. His car maintained steady lap times, clean fueling, and rock-solid data feedback to the checkered flag.
“I was going really hard… it was really fun,” said Taylor after the race, describing his final-lap charge to victory.

Jon Sewell — From the Back to the Front
Starting deep in the field, Jon Sewell demonstrated determination and technical precision in his AMP-equipped Acura Integra Type R.
From ninth to fifth, Sewell’s controlled aggression and composure through traffic earned him the Sunoco Hard Charger Award for the largest positional gain in class.
Sewell’s Integra, running AMP Engine Management electronics and data-driven EFI calibration, stayed consistent across the race’s demanding conditions. Even under high heat and traffic pressure, engine parameters remained stable — proof that AMP systems keep privateer racers performing at factory-team levels.

The AMP Advantage That Wins Races
Success at the SCCA Runoffs demands pace, precision, and reliability — the core of AMP Engine Management technology.
Why racers choose AMP:
-
Standalone ECU control for precision fuel and ignition strategies within STL rules
-
Smart EFI tuning that adapts to temperature, grip, and traffic changes
-
Data you can act on — robust logging and diagnostic visibility
-
Safety strategies — temp/pressure-based trims and built-in fail-safes
Two Top-5 finishes by AMP-supported racers at the nation’s most competitive amateur road-racing event reaffirm one thing:
